BREAKING NEWS: APC Turns Down Bala Mohammed’s Planned Defection

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Bauchi State chapter, has warned Governor Bala Mohammed against joining the party.

Reports indicate that Mohammed’s planned defection followed meetings with Bola Tinubu and other APC leaders, during which discussions reportedly focused on a power-sharing arrangement.

However, the Bauchi APC caucus and stakeholders have unanimously opposed Mohammed’s proposed defection.

Senator Samaila Dahuwa disclosed the development after a meeting of the caucus in Abuja.

The party warned that Bala’s admission would undermine the party’s cohesion, credibility, and electoral chances.

The group noted that the governor had previously made public statements critical of the President and the APC, without retracting them or seeking reconciliation.

It added that admitting him under such circumstances would be detrimental to the party’s unity and stability in Bauchi State.

The caucus also condemned what it described as a failure to consult key stakeholders on such a significant political decision, calling the omission unacceptable and inconsistent with internal democracy.

According to the stakeholders, their position will be formally communicated to party authorities, with a demand for adherence to due process and respect for established party structures.

Despite the opposition, Mohammed is said to have concluded plans to formally join the APC in the coming days.
