According to her account, their conversations started on a positive note, leading to outings where the man allegedly promised to support her business. She said she initially believed his intentions were genuine until she later found out he was already married.
In her words, she said:
“So there’s this guy I met, we exchanged contacts and started talking. We went on dates, it was going well. I told him about my business and he said he was going to support me.
Later, I found out that he was married. I confronted him, and he denied it. That was already a turn-off for me.”
Despite her reservations, she agreed to meet him again after he invited her out. However, she alleged that the plans changed unexpectedly when she realised they were heading somewhere different from what was initially discussed.
“He told me we were going to a restaurant, but when we got there, it was a hotel. I asked him what we were doing there, and he said he didn’t feel like going out again.
I asked him, ‘What are we doing here if you haven’t done the things you promised me?’ He sent me ₦7 million for my business. After that, I told him I wanted to get something downstairs, and that was how I left the hotel and blocked him.”
The story has since generated mixed reactions online, with social media users debating issues around trust, honesty, and the expectations people bring into modern relationships.
