“I was a Muslim and I became a Christian, and one of the things I went through after converting was being locked up by the DSS for three days,” she said.

Recounting the experience, she explained that her time in detention opened her eyes to what she described as Nigeria’s untapped capacity to tackle insecurity, particularly the Boko Haram insurgency.

She claimed that while she was in DSS custody, she observed that the country already possesses the technological capability needed to combat insecurity but alleged that such resources are not fully utilized.

“I realized we have the technology to fight insecurity, but they refuse to use it,” she stated. The woman also used the opportunity to criticize corruption in Nigerian society, describing it as a deeply rooted culture that has affected both leadership and ordinary citizens.

She argued that practices such as using personal connections to secure jobs or bypass procedures have become normalized, even when individuals are unqualified.

According to her, her Christian faith made her begin to question many societal practices she once considered normal.

“When I came into Christ, God began to show me that all these things are against His will,” she said. She urged Nigerians to embrace fairness, patience, and integrity, encouraging citizens to “wait for their turn” instead of seeking shortcuts through influence and favoritism.

Despite her criticisms, the woman expressed optimism that positive change would eventually come to Nigeria.“I believe that hope and change is coming. I just know it,” she added.
