It was his first trip outside his usual region, and the moon, which was beginning to rise, illuminated his path, bringing a sense of calm and serenity.

The man was thinking of his wife, who was pregnant with their first child. “Wow, she’d love to see this beautiful moon,” he thought, smiling.

The pregnancy had been a pleasant surprise, but it had also brought financial worries. This trip was crucial for him, as the payment would help cover hospital costs and preparations for the baby’s arrival.

As the night wore on, Watson began to plan his family’s future. He was thinking of names for the child if it was a girl, which was what he hoped for, as his dream had always been to have a little princess. Luna, that would be a beautiful name, he thought, inspired by the moon that accompanied him on his journey.

But in the midst of his thoughts and plans, the truck driver was abruptly snapped out of his reverie by a worrying sign on the dashboard: the gas gauge was dangerously low. “Oh no,” Watson lamented, realizing that he had miscalculated the amount of fuel needed for the trip. He remembered his wife’s words before he left: “Be careful on the road, love. Don’t push your limits, okay? Try to find a place to sleep too. Don’t drive tired, and always make sure you have enough fuel. Good luck.” She was always worried about his safety, especially now that they were expecting a child.

The man’s unease grew with every mile he traveled. He waited anxiously for a gas station, but the road seemed endless, and no sign of civilization appeared on the horizon. Night had already fallen, and the darkness grew more and more enveloping, him in a blanket of uncertainty and apprehension.

Finally, “Thank God,” he exclaimed, stretching his aching legs. The gas station was simple, but it offered exactly what Watson needed: fuel, a meal to satisfy his hunger, and a place to rest. While he was filling up, his eye was caught by something a little peculiar: there was a nightclub next to the gas station with bright lights and loud music. There were several girls at the door wearing tiny dresses, inviting the men in. In addition, a group of excited truck drivers approached him, inviting him to join them.

“Hey buddy, let’s go and have some fun with some pretty girls,” they suggested in a friendly tone. Watson politely refused, explaining that his aim was just to fill up and get on his way. He was a committed married man, as well as being very religious, and he didn’t want to get involved in situations that could lead to misunderstandings. The group of truckers laughed, mocking him, and headed towards the nightclub, leaving the man to his own reflections.

Meanwhile, the attendant struck up a conversation, interested in finding out more about the new truck driver. He shared his plan to continue the journey after refueling, but the attendant, noticing his tiredness, warned him about the dangers of the road at night, mentioning the presence of potholes and poorly lit stretches.

The truck driver hesitated. The idea of spending the night near the nightclub bothered him, fearing that his presence there could be misinterpreted. He was a man of faith and values, and the last thing he wanted was to make a bad impression. The gas station attendant, sympathetic, suggested a practical solution.
