Former Senator, Professor Iyabo Obasanjo, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the successful conduct of the party’s presidential primary election across the country.

In a congratulatory message released on Monday, Obasanjo described Tinubu’s victory as “well-deserved,” noting that the overwhelming support recorded in Ogun State demonstrates the confidence and trust party members and residents have in the President’s leadership and vision for Nigeria.
According to her, the President secured an impressive 322,485 votes across the 20 local government areas of the state, a development she said reflects Ogun State’s unwavering support for the administration and its commitment to the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda beyond 2027.
The former Senator further stated that the outcome of the primary election serves as a reaffirmation of the President Tinubu’s growing national acceptance and political strength within the ruling party.
Obasanjo also lauded the peaceful conduct of the exercise and commended party leaders, stakeholders and members for their unity, dedication and cooperation throughout the process.
She expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to witness sustainable development, economic growth, national stability and inclusive governance under Tinubu’s leadership.
