The outspoken cleric explained that Goodluck Jonathan still enjoys goodwill among many Nigerians due to his previous leadership style and political image. He stated that if the former president eventually decides to join the race, it could significantly alter the political atmosphere ahead of the next election.

Ayodele further claimed that Jonathan’s possible candidacy may attract support from different regions and political groups across the country. According to him, several politicians who are currently divided may eventually unite around the former president if he enters the contest.

The cleric also stated that the ruling party should not underestimate the influence and popularity Jonathan still commands within Nigeria’s political space. He added that many Nigerians continue to see the former president as a calm and experienced political figure.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan served as Nigeria’s leader from 2010 to 2015 before losing his re-election bid to former President Muhammadu Buhari. Since leaving office, speculations about his possible return to politics have repeatedly surfaced within the country’s political environment.
