His nightmare began when armed men stormed his home and dragged him to a local OPC leader. Upon arrival, he saw his friend lying on the ground, badly injured. Before Sani could speak, he was attacked.

Both men were handed over to the police. By 2007, Sani was inside Ikoyi Prison. His trial began two years later. In 2011, the judge sentenced him to death by hanging. He said the verdict crushed his soul.
But the deepest wound came from his own blood. After Sani converted to Christianity while in prison, his family abandoned him completely. No visits. No letters. No calls.
Then came a devastating message blaming him for his mother’s death. At his lowest point, Sani attempted to take his own life.
Hope finally arrived through a compassionate lawyer who reviewed his case. An appeal was filed, and the charge was downgraded. His death sentence was reduced to 21 years.
Today, Sani is a free man and has become a pastor. Though the scars remain, he is focused on rebuilding his life and healing from two decades of trauma.
