As per NTV reports, her expectations shattered when she faced difficulty during the pushing phase while the doctor remained an observer. Despite experiencing a breech birth, her plea for assistance from the doctor was refused. Nyambura shared that despite her efforts, the absence of any cries from the baby hinted at possible health issues.
As explained by American Pregnancy, a breech presentation occurs when the baby’s bottoms, feet, or both are positioned to come out first instead of the head, which is the norm during birth. Nyambura informed the attending doctor immediately when the baby emerged with her legs first. Despite urging for help in pushing out the head, she was instructed to relax as it wasn’t her responsibility. The baby was born after a five-minute delay without crying and required oxygen support.
“As the baby emerged, I promptly notified the attending doctor about the unusual presentation with her legs first. Despite urging them to assist in pushing out the head, I was told to relax, as it wasn’t my responsibility. After a five-minute delay, the baby was born without crying and placed on oxygen,” she lamented.
Shortly after, the distressed mother checked on her newborn and noticed her baby’s legs had turned blue. Doctors reassured her initially, but also acknowledged the baby’s slim chances of survival due to multiple complications, possibly leading to cerebral palsy. Despite delivering at 32 weeks, the baby had reached the necessary weight and could have survived if her requests were heeded by the doctors. Nyambura tragically lost her baby girl on Saturday, December 16, and is now pleading for justice for her innocent infant. She said
“Upon later inspection, I discovered her legs had turned bluish. Despite my concerns, the doctors assured me there was no cause for alarm but conceded that the baby faced limited chances of survival due to multiple complications, potentially leading to cerebral palsy,” she cried.
