Okada Rider Confesses to Killing Colleague Over Four-Year-Old Grudge, Stolen Phones(Video)

Detectives from the Homicide Section of the Osun State Police Command have arrested a motorcycle operator for the murder of a fellow rider, after a painstaking intelligence-led investigation that spanned nearly two months and culminated in a chilling confession that laid bare a years-old grudge rooted in perceived injustice.

The suspect, identified simply as Adedayo, was apprehended on April 18, 2026, in connection with the killing of one Tiamiyu Afeez, popularly known as “Olode,” whose throat was found slit along the Ojo/Ara Ejigbo road in Ede, Osun State, in February……WATCH VIDEO CLIP

The state police spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, told newsmen that the case came to light on February 23, when a family member of the deceased reported to ‘A’ Division in Ede that Afeez had left home on February 21 at around 8 a.m. for his commercial motorcycle rounds and never returned...READ FULL STORY; FROM THE SOURCE.

Efforts by the family to locate him proved futile until a patrol team from Awo Division separately discovered an unidentified male corpse on a deserted road with his throat slashed. The body was subsequently identified as that of Afeez, triggering a murder investigation that was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Osogbo and assigned to the Homicide Section.

Through intelligence gathering and technology-assisted analysis, detectives tracked down Adedayo, from whom the deceased’s stolen Bajaj motorcycle was also recovered.

In a detailed and startling confession upon interrogation, Adedayo revealed that the motive for the killing stretched back approximately four years, to an encounter in which Afeez had stopped and accused him of being involved in ritual killings while he was on his way to a bank queue during the nationwide cash scarcity period. He alleged that Afeez took his two mobile phones and some cash before handing him over to the police on suspicion of criminal activity.

“He told the police that I was one of those cutting human heads for rituals,”

Adedayo said, adding that although he was granted bail and released, his phones and money were never returned to him. He claimed the loss of his phones cost him his customer contacts and severely disrupted his electrician business, plunging him into financial hardship.

When he unexpectedly ran into Afeez again in February during the Ramadan period and found him dismissive about the old incident, Adedayo said he devised a calculated plan for revenge. He obtained Afeez’s phone number under the pretence of hiring him as a motorcycle operator, concealed a knife, and lured him down a bushy, deserted road.

“Suddenly, from behind him, I used a knife to slit his throat and we both fell,”

he confessed, adding that even as Afeez pleaded and offered to surrender the motorcycle, he told his victim he had no interest in the bike — only in retribution.

Afeez managed to flee on foot but died from his injuries five days later. Adedayo fled the scene on the motorcycle, initially using it for both private and commercial purposes before, fearing detection, he eventually left it in the custody of a friend’s wife.

In a dramatic aside, Adedayo revealed a complex personal background — the son of a former lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, who died in 2002, he said he had drifted through Quranic school, electrical work, and a brief, self-taught practice as a spiritual charm provider for internet fraudsters, though he maintained the electrical trade had always been his primary livelihood.

Closing his confession with an appeal for clemency, he said:
