My father confessed he got his wealth from a cult—everything began to fall apart after his only son died — Lady recounts tragic loss of her 7 siblings
A Nigerian woman has opened up about the heartbreaking ordeal that allegedly destroyed her family after her father reportedly became involved in an occult group in pursuit of wealth.

Narrating her painful experience, she said: “When I was small between 7-10years old, my father was a big man like I know him to be a respectful man in the community he was big, he has like a lodge, a bar where he runs his business we are 8 in numbers and we are seven girls and one boy along the line, I lost two siblings in a week like my elder brother died in Wednesday and my immediate younger sister died.”
She further explained that she was the fourth child in the family and that the mysterious deaths started around 2003.
Speaking on how devastated her father became after the deaths, she said: ” After that he was frustrated because he does not know what to do, that was when he sat all of us down and talk.”
The woman revealed that her father later confessed to being involved in an occultic group. According to her, he claimed members of the group warned him never to cry whenever he lost a child.
She added: “He said he is in an occultic group and they told him that whenever he lost a child, he should not cry so because my elder brother was the one who was supposed to inherit like to be his next of kin in the occultic group and now his dead. His death pained my father because he is the only son so my dad became very frustrated and he cried after a month everything started collapsing business start running down, he started falling sick often , he got really sick that he couldn’t walk he was just staying in one place.”
Describing the circumstances surrounding the death of her elder brother, she stated: “The first one we are just sitting down in the parlour one Wednesday evening, he now started shouting that look at them, they have come they have come before you know, he collapsed and he died.”
She also narrated how her younger sister allegedly died shortly afterward: “So after him, my immediate younger sister that died she went to fetch water and the moment she stepped her leg inside the river because you know delta state we live in a river community so the moment her leg touched the water she fall and died too.”
According to her, other children in the family, including two sets of twins, died shortly after birth.
The woman explained that after the repeated tragedies, the family’s situation worsened significantly. Their father became critically ill, forcing them to sell off family properties, including land and vehicles, to survive and seek help from several traditional healers.
Speaking further, she said: “We started moving from one native doctor from the other in other to look for a solution from there people started knowing what was happening people started running away from us family, we cannot go out anywhere we are going they would be pointing yes look at them they are witch.”
She also addressed why the family did not seek help from churches during the difficult period, explaining that their community strongly believed in traditional spiritual practices.
Recounting her father’s final days, she said the family struggled to care for him until he eventually died in 2005. According to her, none of his relatives came forward to help with burial arrangements, forcing them to deposit his body at a mortuary.
She said: “we took him to the mortuary and that’s were we left him that was 2005 till today I don’t know what happened to his dead body.”
After her father’s death, the family relocated to another community in search of a fresh start. She disclosed that she later engaged in illegal crude oil bunkering work for three months in order to support her mother and sister financially.
Explaining the nature of the work, she stated:
“It is where you would steal crude oil like in water and sometimes you burst the government pipe then you steal their crude oil.”
She revealed that despite her efforts to stabilize the family financially, her mother later fell ill and died in 2010 after medical tests reportedly failed to detect any illness.
According to her, her elder sister also died later that same year after battling a mysterious sickness.
Concluding her emotional account, the woman lamented the loneliness she has endured since losing every member of her immediate family.
She said: “since then I have been the only one surviving ….. Just ,e alone I don’t know anybody if I need advice I don’t have anybody if I need someone to talk to I don’t have anybody.”
