“He is his customer, he usually assists him in getting items from China; he already has his account as a beneficiary, and he mistakenly clicked on his account and sent the money (N542,000) to him,” he narrated.

According to him, Okeeze acknowledged receiving the money, but claimed he had no access to the OPay account.
“When he spoke with the guy, he said he received the notification on his OPay, but that he cannot log in to the OPay account,” Charles said.
“He said the phone number that he used to open the OPay is with his sister back in Nigeria, that when his sister wakes up, he will rectify it.”
He stated that Okeeze had stopped responding to calls and messages put across to demand a refund of the erroneous transaction.

“Presently, I’m in Nigeria. What I did was to also assist my younger brother to get a court order; he submitted it on the guy’s account to report the account as an erroneous transfer,” Charles added.
FIJ called and sent a text message to Okeeze on Saturday, via both his Nigerian and foreign lines, but he has yet to give any response at press time.
