However, he maintained that the advice was not taken seriously at the time, as many members were focused on the surge of public support Obi was attracting across the country.
Recalling the sequence of events, Arabambi stated that the party leadership chose to embrace the enthusiasm surrounding Obi rather than critically assess the concerns raised.
He suggested that this decision, in hindsight, may have overlooked important issues that could have influenced the party’s internal cohesion.
“We were advised by Soludo,” Arabambi said during the interview. “He wrote us a letter that Peter Obi is coming to scam us and that he’s not coming for election, but at the end of the day, we didn’t listen.”
