Reacting to the development, Olayinka shared the report on social media, drawing attention to the growing concerns over insecurity and violence linked to cult-related activities around tertiary institutions.
The management of the University of Benin reportedly distanced the institution’s students and staff from the incident, stating that preliminary information suggested the killing was connected to alleged cult clashes outside the university environment.
The institution maintained that the incident did not occur within the academic activities of the school and urged the public not to associate the university community with criminal activities.
