VIDEO: Lady Stripped Naked in Ebubu Eleme Over Baby Theft as Police Rescue Infant in Rivers

Ebubu Eleme, Rivers State — A woman has reportedly been stripped by angry residents in Ebubu, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, after she was accused of stealing a baby from her neighbour’s home.

Sources claim the family, in desperation, consulted a traditional spiritualist who allegedly mentioned the suspect’s name as being responsible for the disappearance of the child. Following the accusation, residents reportedly confronted the woman.

She was initially said to have denied any involvement, but tension escalated as members of the community allegedly compelled her to take traditional oaths to prove her innocence. Under pressure, she reportedly confessed to involvement in the disappearance of the child.

In her alleged confession, she claimed the baby was sold for about ₦1.4 million to a medical facility in Port Harcourt. However, when community members followed up at the said hospital, it was gathered that no such transaction was traced, and she allegedly later changed her statement.

Further investigation reportedly led to the recovery of the baby at a residence in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, where the child was found alive and in good condition. It was gathered that the infant was in the custody of another woman who allegedly claimed she was searching for a male child.

Police authorities were subsequently alerted, and both the alleged buyer and the accused woman were arrested and taken into custody for further investigation.

The Rivers State Police Command is expected to provide an official statement as investigations continue to determine the true circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction and trafficking attempt.

Meanwhile, authorities have cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands, especially through mob actions, stressing that all suspects remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
