RIVERS STATE. An incident involving a popular taxi driver in Eleme, Rivers State, has sparked widespread outrage on social media after he was reportedly caught in a compromising situation with a married woman inside his vehicle.

Eyewitnesses said tensions escalated immediately after the recording was made. Angry residents confronted both individuals, questioning the woman’s involvement, especially after it was alleged that she is a married woman known within the area.
The woman was trying to cover her face, she looked very ashamed. People were shouting and asking why she would do such a thing, one witness said.
The situation reportedly turned violent as the taxi driver was beaten by some agitated residents before security operatives arrived at the scene to restore order.
In a dramatic turn, the husband of the woman was reportedly contacted and arrived at the location shortly after. Sources say he initially expressed disbelief, insisting that his wife could not be involved in such an act.
However, after being shown the viral video, he was said to have been devastated and emotionally overwhelmed, with reports indicating he has begun considering divorce proceedings.
The woman was seen pleading with bystanders and her husband, but the situation had already escalated beyond control.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and intervened, taking the taxi driver, the married woman, and the husband into custody for further questioning and to prevent further escalation.
